Terms and Conditions



The following are a list of the main terms & conditions that apply. All parties making a booking for the Event or visiting the Event must accept the terms and conditions contained herein.


1.    Definitions

  1. The “Venue” is where the shoot is held.

  2. The “Scotland’s outdoor Centre” is an organisation and is the Event organizer.

  3. The “Client” – The individual, company or other who has booked on behalf of the “Party”

  4. The “Party” – The individuals who will be attending the Venue and taking part in activities at the Venue.

  5. The “Visitors” – The individuals who attend the Venue but are neither the Client nor Party and will therefore not be entitled themselves to any of the benefits, goods or services pursuant to this agreement which are included within the Fee.  Subject to the Event organizer and to availability at the Event the Visitors may be able to purchase refreshments and any other goods or services that might be offered.

  6. “You” means Client, Party and Visitors.

  7. The “Event” is the clay pigeon shoot / archery or team building taking place. The activities are organized operated by Scotland’s Outdoor Centre

  8. The “Deposit” is 50% per Person within such Party all to be paid by the Client.

2.    Booking

Event Booking Details

    1 All bookings will be regarded as provisional until a confirmation email has been received from the client,  We are not under any obligation to continue holding provisional bookings

Simulated Game days

  1. Bookings for the Event will be secured upon the receipt of the Deposit which is nonrefundable. And a confirmation email. Booking confirmations can be sent upon request. 

  2. Emails should be sent to alistairbrooke@hotmail.com 

  3. The Fee or balance thereof is payable in full on the morning of the event before the event starts or in the case of travelling to your venue, full payment must be received the day before the event.

  4. Save at the discretion of Alistair Brooke no Party will be accepted to take part in any activity without payment in advance.

  5. The Outdoor Centre also reserves the right to the Fee or balance thereof for any “no-show” if not notified in advance of 14 days of the Event.

  6. Bookings made within the 14 days of the specified date must be paid for in full at the time of the booking.

  7. Bookings will be confirmed and secured upon the receipt of a nonrefundable fee and Email from the client /hotel

3.    Payment

  1. Payment can be made by BACS:.

    1. BACS payments will be provided please reference your payment with your team name used on the booking form.

4.    Participation, Attendance and Venue

  1. By making a booking for the Event or attending the Event you accept these terms and conditions.

  2. Each Party will need to register before they are permitted to start shooting or attend any stands.


Shooting at Clients Location (simulated Game)


  1. If Travelling to your ground, land must be deemed suitable by Scotland’s Outdoor Centre. Clays will be thrown approximately 150 meters, take into consideration roads, water courses, houses, overhead cables ect and a 275m fallout area. 

  2. 4x4 or atv must be supplied (For trap setup) If ground is deemed unsuitable, we have the right to refuse setup at that location. Each Party shall need to provide their own 4x4 transport to move to and from each stand if required.

  3. If shooting at your venue. Corporate events are 2 hours from time booked we will be on-site for roughly one hour before setting up and one hour after clearing up.  Simulated Game .We would arrive onsite at 09.00 hours and leave no later than 17.00 hours. unless otherwise agreed.

  4. Scotland’s Outdoor Centre hold no responsibility for Guns / participants /spectator/ public ect whatso ever at your location.

  5. Scotland’s Outdoor Centre are not responsible for tidying up clay pigeons and cartridges at your location

  6. Scotland’s outdoor Centre will not be held responsible for any damage to land, fences, dykes, buildings, livestock and vehicles ect.

5.    Cancellations

  1.  This clause applies to the following: where the client (a) cancels the entire event, (b) cancels partial use of the facilities for the event or (c) reduces the duration of the event as a result of which the contracted value is reduced.

  2.  Should an event be cancelled, the following cancellation charges will apply and extend to the total charge. In addition, the client will settle any third-party charges incurred by  on behalf of the client.

  3. Cancellation Clause %  

  • More than 120 working days prior to the event Nil

  • 120 to 61 working days prior to the event 50%

  • 60 to 14 working days prior to the event 80%

  • 14 working days or less prior to the event 100%

  1.  All cancellations must be received in writing from the client and will be deemed to take effect from the date of receipt.

  2.  Scotlands Outdoor reserves the right to cancel the client’s booking if there has been a change of more than 40% of the client’s original contract. Written notification will be sent to the client.

6.    Shotguns, cartridges and loading (Simulated days)

  1. Only double barrel over and under or side by side shotguns are permitted for use at the event. No semi-automatic and pump-action shotguns are to be used

  2. The shotguns used must be 12 gauge or smaller.

  3. Shooters are to shoot with single guns only but are permitted to have loaders.

  4. Suitable cartridges in 12, 20 and 410 gauge can provided at extra cost but if shooter wish to use their own cartridges they must be fibre wadded and be in size 6 or smaller shot.

7.    Safety

  1. It is paramount that each Party and Visitors abide by the rules and regulations stated in the safety briefing.

  2. We reserve the right to cancel or change any activity for safety purposes.

  3. Any Party who does not comply with the rules stated herein or in any further safety briefing will be withdrawn from the Event without refund. This particularly refers to anyone who puts themselves and others at risk and where the behavior of the Party does not adhere to the rules or safety briefing provided.

  4. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are both fit & capable to shoot. This includes things like:

    1. bringing your glasses with you if you require them for short sightedness, wearing the safety glasses & hearing protection;

    2. Not drinking alcohol, or having taken drugs, that may impair your co-ordination, or decision making processes prior to shooting.

  5. All uncertified shooters to be properly supervised, by an authorized person, throughout the shoot and receive instruction before any gun handling takes place. Such uncertified shooters must inform an Event marshal at each stand they shoot at that they are uncertified.

  6. All persons must wear eye and ear protection, 

  7. The Alistair Brooke or any event organizer reserves the right to refuse participation to a Party they believe may at any material time in respect to the Event be under the influence or alcohol or drugs.

  8. A shotgun is dangerous, unless handled and loaded with safety in mind:

    1. Always treat a shotgun as loaded until proven otherwise; forgetfulness, assumption and miscommunication can result in an injury or a fatality.

    2. Always carry shotguns empty and open, preferably, over the arm.

    3. An empty shotgun should only be closed when putting it in a case, rack or slip. These are the only times when even an unloaded shotgun should be closed.

    4. Muzzle awareness – never point a shotgun, not even an unloaded one, towards another person. Other people have no way of knowing if the gun is loaded or not. Your fellow shooters should not be subjected to the potential of having an accidentally loaded gun pointed towards them.

    5. Never mix different gauge cartridges in your pockets or cartridge bag.

    6. Before you load a shotgun, look through the barrels and check that they are unobstructed.

    7. If the shotgun misfires, point the muzzle down the range and wait 25 seconds before opening it.

    8. Always check that barrels are clear after a soft or unusual discharge.

    9. Never leave a shotgun leaning against a tree, wall or fence.

    10. Never leave a shotgun unattended at the Event.

    11. Never load a shotgun until you’re on the stand or in the safety cage, an obvious safety requirement to prevent danger to bystanders and accidental discharge in the direction of others.

    12. Never close a shotgun until it’s your turn to shoot and you are ready.

    13. Never turn towards other people with a loaded shotgun or when closing the shotgun.

    14. Always point a loaded shotgun down the range.

    15. If the stand has no shooting enclosure, take care not to swing the shotgun around towards people.

    16. The gun must be opened and emptied before stepping off the stand.

    17. Where shooters stand in a line with other shooters cartridges are to be loaded and unloaded upon the marshal’s command, e.g. “line ready”, “load” and “unload”.

    18. If there is a problem (other than a misfire), or if a “No Target” is called, open the shotgun. If you have to clear a shotgun, shoot down range, not at the ground or near the trap house.

    19. Open and unload the shotgun before leaving a stand or when moving between stands.

8.    General

  1. Clay Pigeon shooting is an outdoor activity, that is participated in, right through the year. For your best enjoyment you should wear suitable clothing for the time of year. You will be outdoors, away from any shelter for possibly several hours, so shower proof clothing, umbrellas, and waterproof foot wear, etc. are all essential. We recommend a hat or cap, to both shield your head from bits of the broken targets & to keep the sun from your eyes. Loose upper body clothing such a "Puffa Jackets" are not advised for shooter due to getting caught on the gun, when putting in to your shoulder.

  2. The organizer accepts no liability for loss or damage during any activity.

  3. We reserve the right to take photographs during and after the Event for their records and promotional purposes. All persons in entering our site agree to this, unless expressing a wish to the contrary, in writing to the prior to the start of the Event.

9.    Disclaimers & Insurance

  1. A disclaimer must be signed prior to participating in any shooting activities. It is paramount that participants recognize that there is an element of risk associated with shooting. Whilst every care and attention are taken to ensure participants’ safety each Party will have to sign a disclaimer stating that they accept that there are risks involved in these activities and that they accept no liability against the Scotland’s Outdoor Centre in the circumstance of an accident during the Event. Nothing in this disclaimer will exclude or limit any warranty implied by law that it would be unlawful to exclude or limit; and nothing in this disclaimer will exclude or limit Alistair Brooke’s liability in respect of any:

    1. death or personal injury caused by negligence;

    2. fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation on the part of the organizer; or

    3. matter which it would be illegal or unlawful for the organizer to exclude or limit, or to attempt or purport to exclude or limit, its liability.

  2. Whilst not mandatory it is advisable that you arrange your own personal injury insurance.

10.    Limitations of liability

  1. The organizer will not be liable to you (whether under the law of contact, the law of torts or otherwise) in relation breaches of these terms and conditions or to the contents of, or use of, or otherwise in connection with,

    1. to the extent that the website / social media is provided free-of-charge, for any direct loss;

    2. for any indirect, special or consequential loss; or

    3. for any business losses, loss of revenue, income, profits or anticipated savings, loss of contracts or business relationships, loss of reputation or goodwill, or loss or corruption of information or data.

    4. These limitations of liability apply even if alistair brooke has been expressly advised of the potential loss.

11.    Reasonableness

  1. You agree that the exclusions and limitations of liability set out in this disclaimer are reasonable.

  2. If you do not think they are reasonable, you must not participate in or attend the Event.

12.    Unenforceable provisions

  1. If any provision of these terms and conditions is, or is found to be, unenforceable under applicable law, that will not affect the enforceability of the other provisions of this website disclaimer.

14.    Indemnity

  1. You hereby indemnify the Alistair Brooke and undertake to keep the Alistair Brooke indemnified against any losses, damages, costs, liabilities and expenses (including without limitation legal expenses and any amounts paid by the Alistair Brooke to a third party in settlement of a claim or dispute on the advice of Alistair Brookes  legal advisers) incurred or suffered by the event arising out of any breach by you of any provision of these terms and conditions, or arising out of any claim that you have breached any provision of these terms and conditions.

15.    Breaches of these terms and conditions

  1. Without prejudice to Alistair Brooke other rights under these terms and conditions, if you breach these terms and conditions in any way, Alistair Brooke may take such action as Alistair Brooke deems appropriate to deal with the breach, including prohibiting or suspending your access to the Event, and/or bringing court proceedings against you.

16.    Variation

  1. We may revise these terms and conditions from time-to-time.  Revised terms and conditions will on the internet.

You may not transfer, sub-contract or otherwise deal with your rights and/or obligations under these terms and conditions.
